Dreamworld

This work was also made in response to my findings through the Ancestry app. It gives you a list of places that are known by your ancestors, this being towns, cities, countries. All places my biological family may or may have lived. Of course, some of these will also be connected to my donor/ donor family. I became fixated by the idea that they were out there somewhere and becoming inspired by the work of Marjä Pirila and Davis Ayer, I created these images to virtually place myself into the places, landscapes or cityscapes. Using a projector to imitate a ‘Camera Obscura’ and project photos of these places over myself or my space. This created a dream-like effect that creatively touches on my fixation of finding biological family.
